FAIRMONT —
Trial dates have been set for two men charged with the 1974 slayings of three people in Fairmont.
WBOY-TV reports that 64-year-old Phillip Reese Bush pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Marion County Circuit Court to three first-degree murder counts and a conspiracy count.
Bush’s trial is set for May 15.
Eddie Jack Washington pleaded not guilty to the same charges on Monday. His trial will be held during the court’s June term.
Bush and Washington are accused of killing 20-year-old Lester Phillips, 19-year-old Wanda Jane Phillips and 27-year-old Billy Ray Cobb at Windmill Park.
Washington was arrested Feb. 7 in Tampa, Fla., where he’d been living for more than a decade. Bush is serving life sentences at Mount Olive Correctional Complex for two first-degree murder convictions in Ohio County.
