SHEPHERDSTOWN —
A member of Robert C. Byrd’s staff has written a book about the late U.S. senator.
David Corbin is the author of “The Last Great Senator: Robert C. Byrd’s Encounters with 11 United States Presidents.” The book is scheduled for release on Oct. 5.
West Virginia Public Broadcasting reports Corbin spent 16 years on the leadership staff in Byrd’s office and as a speech writer. Byrd died in June 2010 at age 92
Corbin is scheduled to appear at the West Virginia Book Festival in Charleston on Oct. 13, and will speak at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies at Shepherd University on Oct. 16.
