CHARLESTON —
A Charleston police officer has been arrested on drunken driving charges, and police say he’s been placed on administrative leave along with another officer who was in the vehicle with him.
Charleston Police Chief Brent Webster says Huntington police arrested Cpl. Steven “Matt” Webb early Sunday after the vehicle he was driving crashed. Webb was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Webster tells media outlets that Sgt. Michael Pridemore, who was in the vehicle with Webb, wasn’t arrested but also has been placed on paid administrative leave.
The chief says an internal investigation is planned.
