CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A Kanawha County man has been sentenced to probation and community service for his two children's excessive absences from school.
The Daily Mail (http://bit.ly/VLBKQF) reports that Craig Rogers of Clendenin received the punishment Wednesday in Kanawha County Circuit Court.
Rogers was sentenced to 60 days of probation and 10 days of community service, plus a $100 fine and court costs. Rogers' 10-year-old child has missed 17 days of schools since classes began in August and a 7-year-old has missed 15 days.
Rogers' wife, Callie, did not show up for the hearing and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
