Parkersburg woman charged in body-in-trunk case

PARKERSBURG — A Parkersburg woman has been accused along with two others of putting a woman’s body in a vehicle trunk and leaving it at a car wash.

Parkersburg police tell media outlets that 38-year-old Crystal D. Smith was charged Thursday with concealing a deceased human body and conspiracy. Two Parkersburg men were arrested on similar charges last week.

Police found the body of 25-year-old Brandy Marie Adams in the truck of her car at the car wash Sept. 20.

Police say Adams died at Meadowview Trailer Park. The suspects are accused of putting her body in the trunk of her car and taking it to the car wash.

Police say the use of illegal drugs contributed to Adams death. Toxicology reports from the state Medical Examiner’s Office are pending.
