Body found in trunk at Parkersburg car wash

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — Parkersburg police say a woman's body was found in the trunk of a vehicle at a car wash.

Sgt. Greg Collins says police received a call about 8 pm. Thursday about an unattended car in a washing bay. When a police officer popped the vehicle's trunk, he discovered the body.

Friday morning, police identified the victim as 25-year-old Brandy Marie Adams of Parkersburg. According to media reports, her body was being sent to Charleston for autopsy.

Police did not release information on the make or model of the vehicle. Police are not sure how long the vehicle had been in the car wash bay.

Collins says several law enforcement agencies are investigating.
