BLUEFIELD —
LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — A West Virginia man will spend two years behind bars for fraudulently obtaining more than $265,000 in disability benefits.
Gilbert Goff of Eccles pleaded guilty in July to theft of government monies. The 64-year-old was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Lynchburg.
U.S. Attorney Timothy J. Heaphy says Goff agreed to pay $265,673 in restitution.
Goff received disability payments he wasn't entitled from 1990 through 2011 by hiding his income from the Social Security Administration.
