— — Tom and Teresa Barton of Athens, W.Va., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Marie Barton to Ralph Edward Bandy, III, son of Ralph and Debbie Bandy of Kingsport, Tenn. Ashley is a 2004 graduate of PikeView Higth School. She graduated from Marshall University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in geology and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. She completed her master’s degree in geology at the University of Kentucky in 2011 and is currently working on her doctorate at the University of Kentucky. Ralph is a 2002 graduate of Sullivan South High in Kingsport, Tenn. He completed a bachelor’s degree in geography and in geology at East Tennessee State University in 2007 and is currently working on his master’s degree in geology at the University of Kentucky. Ashley is the granddaughter of Thomas and Danese Barton of Princeton and the late Dora Beauchamp, also of Princeton. Ralph is the grandson of the late Ralph and Doris Bandy of Stonegga, Va., and the late Jim and Madge Trigg of Derby, Va. A June wedding is planned.
