Cecil-McCartney engagement

Rodney Dean and Kathy Cecil of Bluefield, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, Kelly Dean “Kel” Cecil, of Morgantown, to Dr. Mollie Kathryn McCartney, also of Morgantown, daughter of James and Nancy McCartney of Roanoke, W.Va.

Kel is the grandson of Jerry D. and Alice A. Cecil of Princeton and Ernie and Melody Rickman of Bluefield, W.Va. Mollie is the granddaughter of the late June Powers  of Buckhannon, W.Va. and the late James and Ruby McCartney of Roanoke, W.Va.

Kel is a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology of Montgomery, W.Va. with a bachelor of science degree in computer science and is completing a master of sciences in computer science and certificate of computer forensics at West Virginia University’s Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Sciences.

He is currently employed by Matthews International Corporation of Pittsburgh, Pa., as senior software engineer of Online Services Initiatives.

Mollie is a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University with bachelor of arts degrees in biology and history and a 2012 graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine degree.

She is currently a first-year family medicine resident in the West Virginia University Department of Family Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va. The couple will wed on May 18th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Weston, W.Va.
