Va. man charged in killing due back in western NY

MAYVILLE, N.Y. — The Virginia man charged with fatally shooting an upstate school superintendent earlier this year is expected to be returned to western New York.

Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace tells The Post-Journal of Jamestown (http://bit.ly/WlDtuj ) that two investigators are bringing 42-year-old Anthony Robert Taglianetti II back north and are expected to arrive at the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville Tuesday afternoon.

Taglianetti is charged with second-degree murder charge for the Sept. 21 killing of 51-year-old Keith Reed Jr. The superintendent of the Clymer school district was found shot to death outside his rural home.

Taglianetti was arrested eight days later by U.S. Marshals in Virginia.

Authorities have said that Taglianetti believed Reed was having an affair with his wife.

Taglianetti is scheduled to appear in county court on Wednesday morning.
