2 NC women plead guilty in Va. to sex trafficking

RICHMOND, Va. — Two North Carolina women face up to five years in prison for bringing a 13-year-old girl to Virginia to work as a prostitute.

Whitney Rachell Hayes and Rachael Michelle Masingene of Charlotte pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to transport a person across state lines for prostitution. U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson in Richmond scheduled sentencing for Jan. 11.

The two 20-year-old women admitted that they met the girl in Miami last February or March and persuaded her to come with them to Charlotte. All three worked as prostitutes there before traveling to the Richmond area with their pimp, Korey Jermaine Reynolds.

Reynolds has pleaded guilty to transporting a minor across state lines for prostitution. He faces 10 years to life in prison at sentencing Tuesday.
