MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — A 22-year-old Ripley native is the new Miss West Virginia.
Talia Markham won the statewide pageant Saturday in Morgantown and will compete in the Miss America Pageant in February.
Markham competed as Miss Capital City. The University of Charleston graduate won the evening gown contest during Thursday’s preliminary competition.
Her platform was stopping child abuse and neglect.
Markham was the second runner-up in last year’s competition.
