Philippi resident indicted in bank fraud

ELKINS, W.Va. (AP) — A Philippi resident has been indicted on federal bank fraud and embezzlement charges.

Federal prosecutors said Thursday that a 12-count indictment charged 48-year-old Patricia Poe with taking at least $352,000 from First Central Bank of Philippi between July 1998 and December 2003.

She faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine on each count if convicted.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Sharon Potter said she didn’t know whether Poe had an attorney.
