Falling icicle kills worker in W.Va.

FOLLANSBEE (AP) — A West Virginia worker has been killed by a falling icicle.

Severstal Wheeling spokeswoman Bette Kovac said 54-year-old Frederic Wizba of Wheeling died Saturday as he walked by a coal conveyor system at the Mountain State Carbon coke plant in Follansbee.

Wizba was a raw material supervisor and had been employed with the company since 1986.

Kovac said the United Steelworkers of America is investigating the accident.
