Nude couple who allegedly gave LSD to dog charged

SNELLVILLE, Ga. — A couple who allegedly gave their dachshund a gummy bear laced with LSD, and were later found wandering the street naked in search of the dog, have been charged in connection with the incident.

The incident occurred Sunday evening when police received reports of a naked man and woman running along the road. After locating the couple, police questioned them.

“During questioning, the man and woman said they had taken LSD and had given some to Oscar, who was missing,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. “Police determined Oscar was a dog and began a search, but soon learned the animal had been hit by a vehicle on a nearby road.”

Although Oscar was taken into custody by animal control, his family requested he be treated by a private veterinarian.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the dog was euthanized for unknown reasons.

Nicholas Modrich and Jamie Hughes, both 25, of Snellville, Ga., have been charged with misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a drug-related object and public indecency.

If pending test results on the dog confirm LSD in the canine’s system, the two could also face animal cruelty charges.
