MUNSTER, Germany —
German police say a 90-year-old woman single-handedly beat off three would-be robbers using only her cane.
According to Reueters news service, the 90-year-old woman was at her rural farm outside Muenster, Germany Monday when she spotted two men and one woman intruding on her property.
The retired farmer grabbed her cane and proceeded to beat the burglars with it and then chased them off of her property, causing them to flee to a nearby village outside Münster.
“It was quite courageous of her,” a police spokeswoman told Reuters. “But on the other hand it was also quite dangerous. She was quite fortunate that nothing serious happened.”
