No. 5 NFL draft pick lands in jail

STILLWATER, Okla. — One of the top picks in last month’s NFL draft had been scheduled to sign autographs in Houston last weekend, but canceled on short notice.

Now Jacksonville Jaguars first-round draft selection receiver Justin Blackmon probably wishes he’d kept that business date. Blackmon was charged Monday with aggravated DUI, a misdemeanor, after getting pulled over early Sunday morning.

The investigating officer said Blackmon, who starred at Oklahoma State, smelled like alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and glassy and bloodshot eyes. He posted $1,000 bond and left the Payne County Jail Sunday afternoon, a jailer said.

"We are aware of the report and are gathering information," Jaguars spokesman Dan Edwards said. "We don't have any comment at this time."
