Local college products in the minors

BLUEFIELD —  Bluefield College product Jon Link is currently working out of the bullpen for the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Link is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in four games, having allowed four hits and struck out five in 4 2/3 innings. Link was drafted in the 2005 by the San Diego Padres, and pitched in nine games for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2010.

 Concord University product Drew Bailey is currently in extended spring training with the Oakland A’s. A 35th round draft choice in 2010, the 6-foot-5 Bailey was 5-0 with a 2.34 ERA last season with the Vermont Lake Monsters in the New York-Penn Leage. He struck out 37 batters in 26 games and 42 1/3 innings on the mound.
