PRINCETON — The Princeton Tigerettes junior varsity basketball squad (6-10) completed the season in impressive fashion. They won four of their five last games, including a 59-25 dismantling of Bluefield in the season’s finale on Feb. 19.
The Tigerettes were a stronger team than their record would suggest. They lost several close contests and were competitive in every game with the exception of one. Princeton averaged 47 points a game and surrendered 41 points per encounter.
In the Bluefield contest, Marissa Mullins paced the scoring with 14 points. Jessica Inman, Kim White and Cydney Graham all bucketed 10 points. Rounding out the scoring were Chelsey Walker (7 points), Khadija Payne (6 points), and Miranda Wimmer (2 points).
For the season, Marissa Mullins was the leading scorer averaging 12.8 points per game.(ppg). Other top scorers included Jessica Inman (7.3 ppg), Cydney Graham (7.0 ppg), and Chelsey Walker (6.1 ppg).
Jessica Inman was the prime three-point shooter, connecting on 18 long-range goals. She tallied three three-pointers in the Spring Valley contest.
Cydney Graham was the team’s best foul shooter, averaging an impressive 71 percent at the foul line.
The JV Tigerettes were coached by Tamara Scott and Tina Six.
