PRINCETON POLICE
July 4
• DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Ptlm. B.E. Grimm, Ptlm. J.D. Halsey and Sgt. T.A. Gray responded to a fight at Princeton Avenue, where they separated the parties for questioning. Both reported they were friends who began arguing about a certain topic and that harsh words were exchanged. One party left the residence with his older brother.
• DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Ptlm. J.D. Halsey, Ptlm. B.E. Grimm and Sgt. T.A. Gray responded to a reported altercation at a Thornton Avenue residence. The statements provided indicated there was not a physical altercation between the parents and a juvenile there. The juvenile left the residence with a family member, and the father also agreed to leave the home.
• BATTERY: Ptlm. T.A. Bailey responded to Sunoco on South Walker, where a battery was reported. The complainant stated he was at the store and saw a beer lying on the floor board of a parked car. He allegedly retrieved the beer, took a drink and put it back in place. Meanwhile, the owner of the car, allegedly saw him, pulled a weapon and began to fight. The complainant reported the vehicle owner fled in a gray Toyota. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges.
• SHOPLIFTING: Ptlm. M.B. Gergely responded to a rear alley of S & S Express, where a complainant reported a white male in a green T-shirt removed beer without paying for it. The officer located a suspect, who reportedly admitted he took two beers without paying. Adam Copley, 21, of Northfork, was cited for shoplifting.
• DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Officers responded to Belcher's Mobile Home Park, where an altercation was reported between a mother and son. The mother initially reported the son punched a hole in the wall, and she kicked him out. The son allegedly continued to kick at the door and attempt to pry it open. The complainant refused to comply.
• BURGLARY, PETIT LARCENY: A North Third Street resident reported that someone broke into his house and stole cash inside. Lt. P.W. Hill spoke with the man the complainant named as a possible suspect, but he reported the only time he had entered the house in question was when the residents were present.
• DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, MALICIOUS WOUNDING: Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly responded to Rogers Street, where individuals were reported throwing rocks off the railroad bridge. A couple reported they were passing under the bridge when a rock shattered their windshield, cutting the woman's eye and neck. The officer transported the woman to Princeton Community Hospital for treatment after searching the bridge and finding suspects.
July 5
• PETIT LARCENY: A man reported that his wallet was stolen from his Mercer Street residence. The man reported he had a female friend over to his home for a while. Ptlm. M.B. Gergely attempted to contact the friend, but had not talked with her, as of last report.
• BURGLARY: A woman reported someone broke into her Washington Avenue home and took a TV and other items. Ptlm. M.B. Gergely investigated and reported that the point of entry appeared to be a back door, where someone used a screwdriver to pop the deadbolt. The case remained under investigation.
• DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Ptlm. J.D. Lambert responded to a report of vandalism to a vehicle. The complainant advised his vehicle was parked behind his house on Harrison Street and that someone busted the right front passenger window.
