DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, PETIT LARCENY: Dep. W.E. Rose received a complaint from a Pinoak Road woman, who advised someone forced the gas door open on her vehicle overnight and stole the fuel.



PUBLIC INTOXICATION, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Dep. W.E. Rose was dispatched to Mercer Mall, where an intoxicated male was reported with this trousers around his knees. Officers located the man in the parking lot of K&W; Cafeteria, with his pants unbuttoned and unzipped, being held up by an off-duty officer. Rose instructed the man to button his pants and leave the lot. Dennis Stroud, 34, of Bluefield, was arrested, after officers determined he was too intoxicated to even button his pants.



Dec. 14



POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Sgt. S.J. Cary was dispatched to Littlesburg Road in Bluefield, where a 1995 green Buick Park Avenue ran off the road and over a steep embankment before coming to a rest against a resident's chain-link fence. The driver advised three deer ran into the road in front of him and that he hit the brakes and steered to the left to avoid hitting the deer. During the course of the investigation, the driver was allegedly found to be in possession of two hydrocodone pills. Timothy Cline, 49, of Bluefield, was charged.



PETIT LARCENY: Capt. M.L. Gills received a report from a Napoleon Lane woman, who advised her computer was missing after a potential suspect left her residence.



ROBBERY: Dep. E.P. Parks responded to Coppolo's Mobile Home Park, where complainants reported a strong-armed robbery had already taken place. The complainant met the officer on the front porch and reported he was watching TV in his living room, when someone knocked on the door. The suspect allegedly produced a handgun and forced the complainant inside the residence when he answered the door. The suspect allegedly struck him in the head with the pistol once they were inside the dwelling. The suspect reportedly located a Crown Royal bag containing several loose stones and fled from the home with the bag and gemstones. The case remained under investigation.



Dec. 15



BREAKING AND ENTERING: Dep. M.S. Horn responded to Carr Lane, where a complainant reported someone damaged a lock, pried a door open and entered the home. The officer examined the scene, noting that the suspect entered the house and went straight for a bedroom closet, where a safe was located. The case remained under investigation.



ASSAULT, BATTERY, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, PETIT LARCENY: Cpl. S.A. Sommers responded to Estes Mobile Home Park in Montcalm, where an altercation was reported. One of the subjects present when the officer arrived advised he had confronted his neighbor about money he said was owed to him and that the neighbor became upset. The neighbor reported the first subject had come to his home to apologize for a previous argument and that the two argued again once they were together. While the two men were fighting, a female allegedly entered the fray, striking two of the people present with a detergent bottle. Windows in the alleged victim's home were also broken during the altercation. Samuel Rutledge, 55, of Montcalm; Christine Tiller, 59, of Montcalm; and Phyllis Rutledge, 61, of Montcalm , were all taken into custody. Phyllis Rutledge was later released for medical treatment, when she reported a finger was broken.



Dec. 16



SHOPLIFTING: Cpl. S.A. Sommers responded to Princeton Wal-Mart, where he arrested Sandra Cecil, 24, of Princeton, after she allegedly attempted to shoplift items and caused a disturbance that required the assistance of an off-duty West Virginia State Police trooper in the store at the time.
