Sept. 25
• ENTERING WITHOUT BREAKING, GRAND LARCENY: Ptlm. W.M. Bradley received a report from a woman that she had several construction workers inside her house and that there were tools missing.
Sept. 27
• CONCEALMENT OF A DEADLY WEAPON: Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly initiated a traffic stop involving a gold Pontiac Grand Am. During a search of the vehicle, the officer reported finding a firearm under the passenger seat. The passenger, Lance Copley, 18, of Northfork, was cited for concealment of a deadly weapon. The handgun was logged into evidence.
• UNATTENDED DEATH: Officers investigated an unattended death at an apartment on Stafford Drive. After a preliminary investigation, Ptlm. J.S. Bish reported there did not appear to be foul play involved.
Sept. 28
• DUI, DRIVING REVOKED: Sgt. T.A. Gray and Ptlm. J.D. Halsey responded to Rogers Street, where a vehicle was reported traveling on the wrong side of the road. Officers located the vehicle an initiated a traffic stop behind the Pepsi Bottling Plant. Halsey noted an open 12-pack of Budweiser inside the vehicle and that the driver smelled strongly of alcohol. Craig Gilpin, 30, of Princeton, was arrested.
• FAILURE TO APPEAR, DRIVING SUSPENDED, DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Officers arrested Paula Treadway, 37, of Princeton, for the listed charges.
• SHOPLIFTING: Ptlm. E.T. Pugh responded to Grant's, where a manager reported a man attempted to take meat out of the store without paying for it. Paul Hoston, 45, of Princeton, was cited for shoplifting.
• OBTAINING BY FALSE PRETENSES: A man reported someone opened a credit card in his name and used the card to purchase items at Blockbuster video and Kroger stores on Stafford Drive. Ptlm. E.T. Pugh filed the report and noted charges were pending further investigation.
• BATTERY: A complainant reported that a man struck her in the side of the head when she stopped by a house to get her mail. When she got into her car, the man allegedly began swinging at her through the car window. Warrants were pending.
Sept. 29
• POSSESSION OF TOBACCO ON SCHOOL PROPERTY, PETIT LARCENY: Ptlm. J.S. Bish responded to Princeton Senior High School, where a complainant reported someone stole her pink wallet. Witnesses identified a suspect, who allegedly went into the restroom with the wallet. When Bish searched the suspect, he also located a pack of cigarettes. The wallet was returned to the complainant, and the suspect was cited for having tobacco on school grounds.
• SHOPLIFTING: Ptlm. W.M. Bradley reported seeing a suspect take a pack of Dr. Scholl's corn removers from a display rack in Kroger and place them in her purse. She attempted to leave the store without paying for the item. Melissa Williams, 18, of Princeton, was cited for shoplifting.
Sept. 30
• PETIT LARCENY: Sgt. B.R. Woodard responded to Mercer Street, where a complainant reported someone took a bicycle he had left outside his business. The mountain bike was white and nearly new.
• BATTERY: Sgt. B.R. Woodard and Ptlm. D.B. Whited responded to the Gateway Motel, where a male and female were reported in a physical altercation. The woman reported she was sitting in front of the motel, waiting on a ride when a white male walked toward her and called her an obscene name. The male allegedly also punched her and told her she took $200 from him. The woman reported she did not wish to pursue charges.
Oct. 1
• BREACH OF PEACE: Ptlm. J.D. Halsey, Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly and Sgt. T.A. Gray responded to a disturbance on South Avenue. Officers reported smelling alcohol on the suspect, and the complainant advised he had been throwing things around the house when she told him to leave. Jessie Radford, 39, of Princeton, was arrested due to his intoxicated state and allegedly unwillingness to cooperate with officers.
