Jan. 6
• POSSESSING A DEADLY WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS, ASSAULT, WANTON ENDANGERMENT: Officers received a call of a disturbance at Princeton Senior High School. While Sgt. B.R. Woodard was en route, a man stopped him in traffic on Stafford Drive and told him someone had just pulled a gun on him and shot at his car at the high school. The two were allegedly arguing over a domestic situation between the complainant's wife and the suspect. The alleged suspect reported he did pull a semiautomatic weapon on the complainant because he was afraid of the complainant. A witness reported seeing the altercation but did not see a weapon or hear a shot. Johnny Midkiff, 33, of Lashmeet, was charged with possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds, assault and wanton endangerment; Harvey Henley, 33, of Princeton, was charged with assault. Both men turned themselves in upon receipt of the warrants and were arrested.

• PETIT LARCENY: Ptlm. S.R. Pauley received a walk-in complaint from a woman who reported she left her coats inside a room she checked out of at the Budget Inn on Thorn Street. She returned to the motel to retrieve the items, but management there reported they had not been turned in, and they were allegedly not in the room at that time either.
• BURGLARY: Ptlm. J.D. Lambert responded to Douglas Street, where a complainant reported someone broke a glass pane out of the front door and entered the residence. She reported a 50-inch flat-screen TV was missing.
Jan. 9
• DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Ptlm. B.E. Grimm responded to Downtown Apartments, where a complainant advised a glass door had been shattered.
Jan. 10
• PETIT LARCENY: Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly responded to Washington Avenue, where complainant reported someone stole his brown and white pit bull.
• LARCENY: Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly responded to Harrison Street, where a complainant reported someone stole her ATM card and made four transactions.
Jan. 11
• PETIT LARCENY, TAMPERING WITH A VEHICLE: A woman came to the police department to report someone stole several items from her vehicle. A suit case, a make-up bag and an assortment of tools were reported missing.
Jan. 12
• PETIT LARCENY: A complainant reported he let his daughter-in-law borrow an acoustic guitar and later received a pawn slip for the guitar. The slip was in the name of the suspect and stated she pawned the guitar for $20.
• ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Ptlm. M.B. Gergely responded to Kroger parking lot, where a woman reported she was walking to her vehicle and talking on her cell phone when a female wearing a tan jacket attempted to rip her purse from her arm. The complainant advised that she held onto the purse and the two tumbled to the ground. An unidentified male also got involved and allegedly attempted to pry the purse from the victim's hands, but she told the officer she was not giving up her purse. The suspects eventually fled behind Kroger on foot. The officer provided both the complainant and a witness statement forms to complete and searched the area for suspects. None were located.
