Feb. 19

• SHOPLIFTING:
Sgt. W.J. Gilley responded to Allen's Supermarket, where a complainant reported he saw a suspect place a can of hairspray in her purse and eye solution in her pocket and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. April Johnson, 29, of Princeton was cited and released.

Feb. 21

• DUI:
Ptlm. J.D. Halsey received a call in reference to a dark vehicle that hit a brick wall at Grant's in East Main Street. Halsey and Ptlm. B.E. Grimm responded and reported seeing a white male attempting to dig his blue Dodge Dakota out of the snow. Halsey reported he was unsteady and slurring his speech. Kester Lane, 25, of Bramwell, was taken into custody, where his blood-alcohol level tested over the legal limit.

Feb. 22

• BREAKING AND ENTERING:
Ptlm. S.R. Pauley responded to Shooters, where a complainant reported she arrived and saw a man wearing a black ski mask and a flannel coat wielding a crow bar at the door to gain entry. The suspect was not located.

• SIMPLE POSSESSION: Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly and Ptlm. E.T. Pugh responded to Princeton Middle School in reference to a student possessing marijuana. The suspect was reportedly found in possession of the drug. He was issued a citation and released to a parent.

• BURGLARY: Ptlm. M.B. Gergely responded to North Third Street in reference to a burglary. The complainant reported his scanner was missing.

Feb. 23

• DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY:
Sgt. T.A. Gray responded to Butler Street in reference to a possible breaking and entering in progress. The officer located a suspect as he investigated and observed that the suspect allegedly broke glass from a rear bedroom door to gain entry. Nicole Smallcanyon, 23, of Bluefield, was charged with destruction of property.

• DUI WITH A MINOR UNDER 16, DRIVING REVOKED FOR DUI: Ptlm. E.T. Pugh responded to the intersection of West Main Street and New Hope Road, where a car hit a guard rail. The driver allegedly appeared to be having a difficult time standing up and slurring his speech. Two children were observed in the back seat. David Goad, 28, of Princeton, was arrested on the listed charges.

Feb. 24

• BREACH OF PEACE:
Officers responded to Mercer Street in reference to a verbal disagreement. Upon arrival, Lt. K.T. Compton spoke to the subjects involved, and the accused reported he had been to an apartment at the rear of the building and passed out there. When he awoke, the man reported several items of his property were missing. According to a report by Sgt. T.A. Gray, Compton advised he would file a report, but the accused reportedly became upset, yelled and cursed. Sgt. B.R. Woodard and Gray arrested Christopher Burgess, 37, of Princeton.
