PRINCETON POLICE
Aug. 16
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Officers D.B. Morey and D.R. Murray learned that the door to an apartment was damaged on Stafford Drive.
BATTERY: A male subject reported that another male had injured him near Wendy's in Princeton to Officer D.R. Murray. Warrants are pending.
SHOPLIFTING; SIMPLE POSSESSION: Officer J.S. Bish was working loss prevention at Grant's on West Main Street and observed a female subject allegedly attempt to steal a package of glue without paying. During a subsequent conversation, the female allegedly advised that she had a narcotic pill in her pocket. Mary Kanode, 40, of Princeton was cited.
Aug. 17
PETIT LARCENY: A female subject reported her purse was missing from a vehicle at ResCare.
UTTERING: A female subject advised that checks that she didn't write were being cashed by a male subject at Sunoco on Mercer Street. The male subject in question gave a statement allegedly confirming the uttering.
BURGLARY: A male subject advised Officer J.D. Halsey that workout equipment was missing from his residence.
Aug. 18
PETIT LARCENY: Officer T.A. Bailey learned a catalytic converter was missing from a car on Harrison Street.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE; UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION: Sgt. T.A. Gray observed a can of beer coming from a vehicle near Princeton Middle School. The officer initiated a traffic stop and observed a smell of alcohol coming from the driver of the vehicle. The driver did not complete the one field sobriety test he attempted and registered a 0.129. The officer also determined that a 19 year old had been drinking. The female registered a 0.040.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Officer J.S. Bish responded to Bell Avenue and learned from a female that her son was intoxicated and refusing to leave the residence. The officers escorted him to a friend's house and advised him to stay the night. The officers received another call and learned the son had returned. Again, they advised him to go to the friends and not return. The son allegedly returned and attempted to kick in the door of the residence. Cosby Phillips, 37, of Princeton was arrested.
Aug. 19
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Officer D.R. Murray and Lt. K.T. Compton responded to Brown Apartments on Craig Street. A female subject advised that her boyfriend had struck her in the face. The officer noted the female appeared highly intoxicated and showed no visible signs of abuse.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Sgt. T.A. Gray and Officer J.D. Halsey observed a vehicle traveling behind them while they were on patrol. The vehicle allegedly had its lights on bright and crossed the center line. The officers initiated a traffic stop and observed the smell of alcohol on the driver. The officers had the driver perform three field sobriety tests which he failed. The driver allegedly refused to do a breathalyzer test. Charles Bolen, 49, of Williamsburg, was arrested.
DRIVING REVOKED FOR 2ND DUI: Officer J.D. Halsey observed a male operating a vehicle who the officer knew had no license. The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned the male was driving revoked with because of an active DUI. William Gillenwater, 57, of Peterstown, was arrested.
Aug. 20
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Officer J.S. Bish responded to Lower Pine Street and a male subject reported damage to the windshield of his car.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A female subject reported that her home had been entered on Front Street and damage was done to a vase inside of the home.
Aug. 22
SHOPLIFTING; OBSTRUCTING: Management of Kroger on Stafford Drive advised Sgt. T.A. Gray that a male subject had allegedly taken a bottle of wine and attempted to leave without paying. The management further informed that the male subject had been in the store several times and stolen items then as well. The male allegedly gave the officer false information twice when they asked for his information. John Duncan Jr., 43, of Princeton, was arrested.
