ATHENS —
Mr. Robert Dudley “Bob” Plummer, of Star Route Box 20 in Athens, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at his residence.
Born February 29, 1924 in Hensley, W.Va., he was the son of Elizabeth Yost Plummer and Harvey Dudley Plummer. He moved to the Mercer County area in 1946 after serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific in World War II. He was a graduate of Concord College and a retired employee of the U.S. F and G Insurance Company.
Survivors include his wife Barbara; sons, Marc and Christopher Plummer; daughters, Erica Damewood and Robin Lauer; grandchildren, Eric Plummer, Jennifer Davis, Sean and Amanda Plummer, Ellie Goyette and Katie Clover, Alaina and Jordan Damewood; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Akira Smith, Jude Davis and Abbi Goyette.
The body has been cremated, and a private service will be held at the residence at a later date.
