WELCH —
Deborah Sheryl Hendricks, age 58, of 1651 Stewart Street, Welch, W.Va., and formerly of Thorpe, went on to receive her eternal reward with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 5, 1954 in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Jim Edward Hayes Sr. and Phyllis Irene Hayes. She had resided in Welch for 10 years and was a graduate of Gary High School and formerly worked as a CNA for OH9 Home Services and the Super S Discount Store. She was an ordained minister and was a member of the Harvest Center Ministry on the Welch-Pineville Road.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Jane Hayes.
Left to cherish her memories are her: Husband: James L. Hendricks Jr. of Welch; oldest son: Tommy Lee Vance Jr. and companion Amanda Shrader of Rutherfordton, N.C.; daughters: Heather and Mark Myers of Munice, Ind., Rachael and Mike Torres of Boissevain, Va.; sons: Joshua and Rachel Hendricks of Mt. Nebo, W.Va., Jeremy and Rachael Hendricks of Peru, Ind.; brothers: Jim and Phyllis Hayes of Gary, W.Va., David Hayes of Pulaski, Va.; Nana's angels, her granddaughters, Sierra Land, Sara Hendricks, and Baylee Torres; Nana's Prince, grandson, Samuel Hendricks; loving cat, Topaz; a host of nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Rebecca and David Cardwell of Vivian; brother-in-law: Charles and Gerri Hendricks of South Carolina; mother and father-in-law: James and Eva Hendricks Sr. of Vivian, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastors Michael Brooks and Walter Muncy officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Thursday from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Debbie's grandchildren were her world and she considered herself to be very blessed. To honor her love of children, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, a wrapped gift be delivered to place around the casket for Toys For Tots Christmas.
