BLAND, Va. — Russell Graham Meadows, 72, of Bland went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at New River Valley Medical Center. He was born on June 25, 1940 at Bland County, Va., the son of the late John Trenton and Lovenia Elizabeth Brunk Meadows. He retired from Bland Correctional Center with 39 1/2 years of service and was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Caldwell Meadows; one son, James R. Meadows and friend Lois Ann Eaton, Bland; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Ed Wimmer, Bland; Linda Sarver, Bland; Patty and Greg Puckett, Bland; Brenda and Robbie Pike, Bland; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Susie Meadows, Bland; his mother-in-law, Mary Lee Caldwell, Bland; brother-in-law, Junior Caldwell, Bland; sister-in-law and husband, Nancy and Leon Sink, Bland; special pets, Bonnie and Clyde.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Joe Taylor, Rev. Nathan Walter and Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until service time. Graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Hoges Chapel Cemetery, Bland.
