PRINCETON —
Mosha Waddell Hurt, 97, of Princeton, died Sunday, March 3, 2013. Born May 17, 1915 in Ferrum, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mac Waddell and Berta Ray Waddell.
Mrs. Hurt graduated from Northfork High School and National Business College in Roanoke, Va. She was a former employee of East Coast Foods in Princeton and retired from the West Virginia Dept. of Human Services in 1977. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton for more than 50 years, where she was also a member of the Women's Sunday School Class. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hurt in 1997; and one sister, Mildred Ray Wood.
Survivors include two sons, David Hurt and his wife Edith of Beckley and Dr. Mike Hurt and his wife Sue of Purcell, Okla.; three grandchildren, Brian Hurt and his wife Jami of Charlotte, N.C., Tracie Belcher and her husband Billy of Beckley and Chris Hurt and his wife Debbie of Dallas, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Justin Hurt of Dallas, Texas, Carter Hurt and Griffin Hurt both of Charlotte, N.C., and Evan Belcher of Beckley; two nieces, Susan Turner and her husband Bobby and Gail Rector; two nephews, Doug Wood and his wife Billie and Don Rector and his wife Martha; as well as special friend and caregiver, Sue Bolt; and good friend, Carol Wimmer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Dan Jividen officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 264 New Hope Rd., Princeton, WV 24740.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
