WYTHEVILLE, Va. —
Wilma Jean Landreth Widner, age 78, of Wytheville, passed peacefully to meet her Heavenly Father Saturday morning, March 2, 2013. Jean was born on October 31, 1934 in Cripple Creek, Va., the daughter of late Joseph Robert and Hallie Littreal Landreth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. “Andy” Widner, and her oldest sister, Joann Landreth Irvin.
Survivors to cherish her memory include: Daughter and son-in-law, Sharon “Jeannie” Burnham and Steve of Wytheville; grandson and his family, Scott Burnham and spouse, Megan and their children, Eli and Brianna, all of Oliver Springs, Tenn.; granddaughter and her family, Shannon Grondzik and spouse, Ben and their children, Rebekah and Rachel, all of Bluefield, Va.; sisters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Rodney Catron, of Virginia Beach, Nancy and Buddy Akers, of Fries, Susan and Larry Shupe, of Wytheville, Bobbie and Robert Dirks, of Wytheville, Debbie and Nelson Dunford, of Rural Retreat; lifelong family friend, Mrs. Ada Kirby; numerous special nieces and nephews. Also, caregivers, Patsy Corvin and Barbara Sawyers, the caring staff of WCCH, and especially her long time physician, Dr. James Stone.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Sonny Ayers and Scott Burnham with interment in the Littreal Family Cemetery, Cripple Creek, Va.
The family will receive friends at Jackson Chapel Church, 225 South 20th St., Wytheville, Va., Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
