RAYSAL —
William Henry Hagerman, 81, of Raysal, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Buchanan General Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
Henry was born January 8, 1932, at Jolo, W.Va., to the late Roosevelt and Louvicy Vance Hagerman. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA, District 17. He attended the Old Samariah Old Regular Baptist Church regularly. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, quilting, canning, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Irene Hagerman; seven sisters, May Baker, Barbara Hagerman, Hazel Hagerman, Lizzie Payne, Celia Bell Woody, Tennessee Woods, and an infant sister, Alice Hagerman; three brothers, Riley, Arvil, and Tommy R. Hagerman; a grandson, Jacob Harvey Hagerman.
Those left to cherish Henry's memory are, his wife, Frances Hagerman of the home; two sons, Virgil Hagerman and wife Anna of Salisbury, N.C., Garson Hagerman and wife Ginger of Paynesville, W.Va.; one daughter, Nila Estep and husband Ricky of Paynesville; two stepsons, Robert McIntosh of Statesville, N.C., and Bill McIntosh of Raysal; three brothers, Theodore and wife Beatrice Hagerman of Rockridge, Jimmy and wife Marie Hagerman of Yulee, Fla., and Perry and wife Nancy of Denton, N.C.; one sister, Clara Ethel Hanshoe of Auburn, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Amanda Milam, John Hagerman, Derrick Hagerman, Matthew Hagerman, T.J. Powell all of Salisbury, N.C., Martha Estep and James Hagerman of Jolo, W.Va.; and five great-grandchildren and two step-grandsons, Devyn and Kevyn McIntosh, and a step-granddaughter, Addison McIntosh.
Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the Old Samariah Old Regular Baptist Church in GroundHog, W.Va., near Jolo, W.Va., at 11 o'clock with Elder Phillip Estep, Elder Gary Estep and Elder Jimmy Amos officiating. Burial will follow at the Roosevelt Hagerman Cemetery at RockRidge, near Paynesville, W.Va. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at the Old Samariah Church in GroundHog, near Jolo, W.Va., Monday evening February 25, 2013, after 6 p.m., where evening service will be held at 7 o'clock.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting Hagerman the family.
