Jimmy Ralph Darnell
CAMP CREEK — Jimmy Ralph Darnell 84, of Camp Creek, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his residence.
He was born February 15, 1929, at Rhodell, the son of the late John E. Darnell and Pina Rosabelle Meadows Darnell.
Ralph had retired from the Compton Construction Company of Princeton after many years of service. He was a veteran of Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. Ralph received National Defense Medal, United Nations Medal, the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five siblings; Grace Hensley, Vernon Darnell, Elijah Darnell, Marie Jones and Georgia Ann Darnell.
Survivors include four siblings, Nellie Shrader, of Shady Springs, Mar Maxey and husband Kermit, of Camp Creek, Ethel Corbin, and husband Robert of Elkins, and Jean Richmond, of Beaver; brother-in-law, Joe Bill Jones, and sister-in-law, Etheleen Darnell. And a host of nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Charlie Farley officiating. Burial will follow in the Reid Cemetery at Spanishburg.
His family will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
The Darnell family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
