BLUEFIELD —
Shawn Sizemore, age 39, of Bluefield, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, December 7, 2012.
Born on July 10, 1973 in Bluefield, he was a son of Danny Sizemore of Salem, Va. and the late Deanna Watkins Sizemore. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Lorena Watkins, Imogene Hairns, Marvin B. Sizemore and Minnie Gae Altizer Sizemore.
He was a coal miner and spent most of his career at Alpha Natural Resources. He was an excellent employee and took great pride in his work. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was loved and adored by his wife and daughters and his passing has left a hole in their hearts that can never be filled.
Survivors include: Wife: Gerri Thomas Sizemore of the home; daughters: Carlie and Abigail; father: Danny Sizemore; mother and father-in-law: Joyce and Carl Thomas; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1225 Lyndale Avenue, Bluefield, W.Va. with the Rev. Larry Roberts and Joey Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as his pallbearers.
Friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 at the church.
