SALEM, Va. —
Margaret Joann “Maggie” Thompson, 71, of Salem, Va., went home to her Lord on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. She was a very dedicated nurse and retired from the Salem Veterans Medical Center. She had great faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Asbury Puckett, along with a brother, Joseph A. Puckett.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Gary L. Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Geraldine Puckett of North Tazewell, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Paul McReynolds of North Tazewell, Va.; three nephews, three nieces, a number of grand-nieces and grand-nephews, along with her beloved pet, Molly and many friends and neighbors who loved her.
Entombment services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Green Hill Memory Gardens, Claypool, Va. with the Rev. Curtis Cruey officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem, Va. Many thanks to the angels that have helped the family through this journey. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
