Samuel T. White III

PRINCETON — Samuel T. White III, 35, of Thornton Avenue, Princeton entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior early Friday morning, Nov. 30, 2012.

Born May 10, 1977 in Princeton, he was the son of Samuel T. White Jr. and Vickie Lynn Wimmer White of Princeton.

Sam was a graduate of Princeton Senior High School, class of 1995 and received his degree in education from Concord College in Athens.

First and foremost, Sam loved his Lord and Savior; he was an active member of the Silver Springs Baptist Church, having been baptized at the early age of 8. He was currently serving as the youth group leader and served in other capacities within the life of the church.

Sam was a devoted son, husband, father, brother and friend to many. He dedicated his life to his two children and to all of his students and players both former and current.

Sam was currently teaching health and was the FCA advisor at Pikeview Middle School, and was a former teacher at Athens School and Princeton Primary School.

Sam was the assistant football coach at Princeton Senior High School for the past two seasons and had served as the baseball coach at Pikeview High School.

Sam loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his father and his friends. Sam was well respected by his administrators, teachers and more importantly, his students. Students of all grades could go to Sam for advice, a shoulder to lean on or just a sympathetic ear.

He inspired student athletes with his own dedication to physical fitness and his love for sports.

He truly was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan, as well as an Atlanta Falcons fan and Atlanta Braves.

Sam left us at a very young age. He will be remembered for his devotion to God, his love for his family and country, and the respect he earned from all who knew him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Kelli Michelle Atkins White whom he married in 2007; two beautiful children, whom he adored, Whitney Grace White and Easton Owen White; his mother and father, Vickie and Samuel White Jr.; his sister who he loved dearly and her husband, Angela Kay and Mark Neal and their children, Zachary and Reid all of Princeton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Delores Atkins of Princeton; sister-in-law and her husband, Traci and Brian Lamfrom and their children Averi and Caden all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Patrick Shrewsbury, whom he loved as a brother.

A service to celebrate the life of Samuel White III will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at the Princeton Church of God on the Oakvale Road in Princeton with Pastor Gerald McKinney officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour at the church.

On Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m., a graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton; those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton by 10:30 a.m.

We will express our love and condolences in many ways, the family would encourage us in lieu of flowers, making memorial gifts of love towards Whitney's and Easton's education. Gifts can be mailed in care of the White family to 654 Athens Road, Princeton, WV 24740.

Family and friends may share messages of love and concern via www.memorialfd.com

The honor of carrying Sam's casket has been given to Patrick Shrewsbury, Chad Davidson, Dewayne Taylor, Joe Stafford, Mike Jones, Randy Wilson, Jason McKinney and Shane Reedy. Members of the PSHS football coaching staff and players, along with Rocky Sizemore III and Matthew Cordle will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The White family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
