Michael D. Cardwell

KEGLEY — Michael D. Cardwell, 34, of Kegley, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Princeton.

Born September 17, 1978, in Princeton, Michael was an employee of Tabor Machine Company for 14 years and a former employee for Smith Services. He was of the Baptist faith.

Michael had many dear friends and was always able to make people laugh and smile with his boisterous personality. He had a love for animals especially his dogs, Jade and Tinka. He enjoyed playing with every child he came in contact with and taught many kids how to skate. Michael was like a big kid himself. He would always give of himself when someone was in need and enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed 4 wheeling, skating and spending every spare moment of his time with his beloved daughter, Alexis and  his fiancée, Ashley.

He had a passion for life and through the help of family and friends, was able to leave this world with many wonderful memories.

His was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Frances O. Cardwell; paternal grandparents, Flem and Snow Rose; special aunt, Ruth L. Dove; and one nephew, Matthew Lee Cardwell who led the way to his glorious home going.

Michael leaves behind his daughter, Alexis Brianne Cardwell of Bluefield; mother, Brenda K. Jackson of  Princeton; father, Tommy Rose and his wife Elsie of Bluewell; sisters, Tranessa and Eddie Lewis of Princeton, Shasta and Christopher Mosley of Lorado, MaryAnn Rose and Nona Gail Rose of Calhoun, Ga., Phoebe Rose of Bluewell; several nieces and nephews and one great-niece, Kreedence MaOma East of Princeton; his fiancée, Ashley Vaught; and his former spouse, Brandy Taylor Cardwell, with whom he had remained good friends. Michael had an extended family, through Ashley, to whom he grew to know and love which included nine nieces and nephews, five sisters and their spouses, parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

He will be deeply missed as a father, son, brother, uncle and a friend to so many.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Emory Merchant officiating. Burial will follow in the White Family Cemetery on the Pisgah Road near Princeton.

Friends may visit with the family Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be RJ Weatherly, Roger Weatherly, Doug Sparks, Robbie Spradlin, Christopher Mosley and Eric Baugh.

The Cardwell family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
