TAZEWELL, Va.. —
Brenda Naomi Riley, age 69, of Tazewell, Va., passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, Va. She was born April 30, 1943 at Squire, W.Va. and was a daughter of the late Alfred Claude and Lona Almedia Sparks.
Brenda was a 1961 Graduate of Tazewell High School and was a lady who enjoyed working crafts, cooking, and traveling, but her heart was in helping other people. She had worked for many years as a LPN and had worked for hospitals in both Virginia and Indiana. Brenda was of the Christian faith and had attended Grassy Spur Church of Christ. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Riley Delida and Christine Riley Hicks.
Those left to cherish her memories include three sisters, Mary Ellen Spence and husband, Red of Newhall, W.Va., Connie Riley Hicks and husband, Miles of Bandy, Va., and Kathy Riley Mitchell and husband, Howie of Tazewell, Va.; one brother, Alfred “Skip” Riley and wife, Sharon of Bastian, Va.; special close friends and caregivers at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, Va.; a host of nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Brenda Naomi Riley will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon) Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
