PETERSTOWN —
John Edward Lee Turner, 65 of Peterstown, W.Va. passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at his home. Born August 24, 1946 at Weston, W.Va. he was the son of the late Sydney and Alma Dorothy Ables Turner. John was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Wanda Dunn Turner; three sons, Jonathan Turner and fiancé Lisa Thompson, Marcus Turner and Isaac Dunn all of Peterstown, W.Va.; three daughters, Dorothy Blankenship and husband Johnny of South Carolina, Rebecca Pierce and husband Jimmy of Tennessee and Vickie Turner of Peterstown, W.Va.; two brothers, Donald Turner and wife Jeri and Harry Turner of North Carolina; one sister, Opal Cody of Wayside, W.Va.; and six grandchildren.
It was John’s wish to be cremated. A Memorial service celebrating John’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Weatherly officiating. Friends may gather for a time of remembrance one hour prior to the Memorial service.
