NORTHFORK —
James W "Buster" Simons, age 59, of Mercer Continuous Care and Rehab Center, formerly of Northfork "Algoma", went to be with the Lord Monday evening, Jan. 28, 2013 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness.
Born April 15, 1953 in Welch, he was the son of the late James "Poor Belly" Simons and Betty Evelyn Tolley Simons. Buster was a loving, kind and compassionate person. He loved his 4-wheeler, He loved to listen to gospel singing. He was affiliated with the Protestant faith. He had resided in Algoma most of his life and was a resident of the Mercer Continuous Care and Rehab Center for the past two years.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Carolyn Woody and husband Anthony of Spencer Va.; two brothers, Jimmy Wayne "Monkey" Simons of Algoma and Jimmy James "JJ" Simons and companion Regina of Bluefield; one niece, Kathy Fulcher and husband Jerry of Patrick Springs Va.; one nephew, Roger David Young and wife Ellie of Harker Heights Texas; close and dear friends, Bernie Shupe of Northfork, Mike Widener of Bluefield, Larry Timm of Bluefield, Lonnie Parker of Algoma, and a special and dear friend from Mercer Continuous Care, Mary King; and also a host of other friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Bluewell with the Rev. Curtis Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Friday at the Mausoleum from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. Serving as pallbearers will be friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers will be Bernie Shupe, Mike Widener, Larry Timm, Lonnie Parker and Bill Pickett. Arrangements by Widener's Funeral Home, Northfork WV.
