BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Roger Dale Puckett, 60, of Bluefield, Va., died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Tazewell, Va. He was a son of Howard Millard Puckett and Ollie Mae Duncan Puckett.
He was an avid hunter and well-known taxidermist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Clifton Dale Puckett; brother, Millard Howard Puckett; sister, Linda Mae Short; and brother-in-law, Estelle Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Dreama Lynn Cregger Puckett of the home; daughter, Kimberly Marie Puckett of Largo, Fla.; granddaughters, Whitney Raine Puckett of Tazewell, Va., Sarah Dale Nevitt of Largo, Fla.; brothers, Tommy Puckett of Climax Springs, Mo., Donnie Puckett and wife Agnes of Marshallville, Ga., Steve Puckett and wife Rosanna of Bluefield, W.Va.; sisters, Shirley Asbury and husband Henry of Tazewell, Va., Joyce Salgado and husband Raymond of Vienna, Va., Sue Smith of Bluefield, W.Va., Kathy Bolton of Concord, N.C.; and one great-grandchild arriving in April, Clifton Cooper Greene.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. with Pastor Kathy Hagerman officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens on the Bluefield-Tazewell Road. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.
Pallbearers will be Bill Lawson, Lonnie Yates, Paul Looney, Booker T., Woodrow Blankenship and Alfred Blankenship III.
In lieu of flowers, donation to Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. will be greatly appreciated.
Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va. is serving the Roger Dale Puckett family.
