RAVEN, Va. —
Edith Beavers Webb, age 91, of Raven, Virginia, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born in Red Ash, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Louie Herbert and Mattie Mae Helton Beavers. Edith dedicated her life to caring for her family, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God in Cedar Bluff and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a lifelong resident of the Raven area. She had touched the lives of many people and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Buford Webb; her son, David Webb; and her brother, James A. Beavers.
She is survived by her: Daughters: Linda Webb Schmunk and husband Don of Fort Mills, S.C., Betty “Deannie” Owens and husband J.C. of Raven, Va.; son, Joel Webb and wife Anne of Edmund, Okla. Also surviving her are 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.
Funeral services for Edith Beavers Webb will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Rick Herald and the Rev. Max Linkous officiating. Entombment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Greg Owens, Randall Owens, Tracy Webb, J.C. Owens, Don Schmunk, Clay Owens and Pete Helmandollar.
The family of Edith Webb will receive visitors Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
