ROCK —
Barbara Ellen Davis, 82, of Rock, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield. Born Nov. 19, 1930 in Welch she was the daughter of the late Samuel Sexton and Caroline Blevins Sexton.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. She has now gone home to be with the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Urcel Davis in 1984; four sisters, Lillian Snider, Myrtle Belcher, Gladys Childers and Grace Sexton; and four brothers, Weldon Sexton, Felix Sexton, Preston Sexton and Samuel Sexton.
She is survived by four daughters, Debra Vanderhoff and husband Thomas of Jefferson, TX, Lynn Medina and husband Richard of Clifton, TX, Robin Trent and husband Donnie of Bassett, Va., and Holly Allen and husband Steve of Hinton; two sons, James T. Davis and wife Donna of Columbia, Va., and Jason U. Davis and wife Anita of Rock; one sister, Ruby Mitchell Beasley and husband Roy of Princeton; nine grandchildren, David Santaigo, Joel Santaigo, Mark Santaigo, Richard Medina, Albert Luna, Angelic Luna, James Davis, Bryan “Hunter” Allen and Reagan Davis; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Ralph Calfee officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service hour on Sunday.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Wright Mountain, Rock. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Allen, Hunter Allen, Albert Luna, Jason Davis, Jed Davis and James Davis. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
