ROCK —
JoAnn Bailey, age 82, of Black Oak Road (Route 2), Rock, W.Va., passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Mercer Nursing and Rehab.
Born on June 24, 1930 in McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Stanley W. and Ruth White Ratcliff. She had been a resident of Rock for 62 years and was of the Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Melvin Bailey.
Survivors include: Two daughters: Robin Thompson and husband Randy of Bluefield, Lorna Jones and husband Robert of Rock; two sons: Arthur Loyd Bailey and wife Patsy of Crumpler, Barry Wayne Bailey and wife Valerie of Rock; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister: Betty Sutherland of Rock.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. David Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Randy Thompson, Robert Jones, Mark Jones, Jeff Lawson, Jason Lane and Evan Bailey will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
