VINTON, Va. —
Judy Roxanna Stephenson, 62, of Sunflower Drive, Vinton, Va., formerly of Princeton, died Sunday, August 19, 2012 at her residence.
Born February 4, 1950, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Frank Brown and Marie Bragg Brown. Judy was a graduate of Princeton High School and of Little French Beauty Academy. For many years, Judy worked as a beautician, and while living in Princeton was a member of Lilly Grove Baptist Church. While living in Vinton, she was a member of Lynn haven Baptist Church, a member of the Red Hatter's Society and enjoyed spending time with her close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Geoffrey Aaron Stephenson.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, William Elbert “Pete” Stephenson of Vinton; Geoffrey's son, Kyle Christopher Stephenson of Atlanta, Ga. and his mother, Erin; children, Daniel Stephenson and wife, Wendy and their two children: Rowan and Astrid of Newark, Conn., Michelle Clark and her two children: Scarlett and Hannah of Nova Scotia; siblings, Priscilla Gay Hall and husband, Lester of Norfolk, Va., Mike Brown and wife, Debbie and niece, Janet of Sumter, S.C. Special sister in law and brother in law, Patsy and Toby Belcher; nephews, Scott Belcher and wife, Tammy Shane Belcher all of Princeton.
A service of remembrance will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Scott Mayberry officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
A time of sharing and gathering will be held Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will honor Judy's request, she will be cremated following the visitation at the funeral home.
