BAPTIST VALLEY, Va —
Harold Jessie Church, age 73 of Baptist Valley, Virginia, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012. Born February 12, 1939 in Tazewell County, Virginia he was the son of the late Louis and Lou Vicey Church. He was a retired coal miner.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Troy Church; one brother, Stewart Church and three sisters, Dollie Johnson, Edith Barnes and Ann Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Pansy Church; two sons, Roy Church and wife Phyllis of Hansonville, Va. and Harold (Pete) Church and wife Peggy of Oakwood, Va.; four daughters, Barbara Clayter of North Carolina, Paula Adams and husband Stanley of Swords Creek, Va. and two adopted daughters; one brother, Kelly Church and wife Ruby of Grundy, Va.; eight grandchildren, Amanda Adams Baldwin, Michael Church, Coty Adams, Tyler Adams, Zachary Adams, Keshia Church, Michael Clayter and Lateasha Clayter; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Baldwin and Alexis Baldwin; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Ronald Meadows and Sadie Clifton officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilbert Day Cemetery at Bearwallow Mountain.
Pallbearers will be Coty Adams, Tyler Adams, Michael Church, Anthony Meadows, Tyler Church, Stanley Adams, Rondal Meadows Jr. and Jon Childress.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
