COOL RIDGE, Va. —
Loma Combs, 83, of Cool Ridge, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 surrounded by her family at her home. Born May 11, 1929 at Egeria she was the daughter of the late Nathan Mills and Versie Lusk Mills.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, canning and quilting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Frankie Dale Combs Sr.; one sister, Lana Reed; two brothers, Dasil Mills and Basil Mills; and two grandchildren, Frankie Dale Combs Jr. and Felicia Davidson Marcum.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Francis “Penny” Combs; three daughters, Delila Zeboskey and husband, Joe of Beckley, Patricia Shrewsbury, of Cool Ridge and Evelynne Phillips and fiancé, Darren Moore, of Cool Ridge; one son, Shawn Combs, of St. Marys; one sister, Oma Akers, of Matoaka; one brother, Ralph Robertson and wife, Genie of Egeria; seven grandchildren, Deidra Pennington, Reginia Thomas and husband, Eric all of Beckley, Prema Tariq and husband, Danish and Derek Shrewsbury and wife, Kayla all of California, Heather Phillips and fiancé, Joe Richardson of Damascus, Va., Zachary and Cindy Phillips and Brandon and Amanda Phillips all of Mullens, Stephanie Combs and April Combs of Fla.; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews including Archie Reed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Richard Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Keaton-Mills Cemetery at Egeria. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
