BLUEFIELD —
Paul Ellington Shaffer, 83, of Bluefield, West Virginia, and formerly of Martinsville, Va., died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Stokes County, N.C., May 13, 1929 to Johnny and Mary Ferguson Shaffer. He was a member of Mayo Christian Church and was retired from People's Save Station in Martinsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and a son-in-law, Thomas Barnard.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Anglin Shaffer of the residence; one daughter, Millicent Ann Barnard of Amelia, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall Jackson Shaffer and Donna of Bluefield, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Russell Jackson Barnard, Sarah Katherine Barnard and Lindsey Shaffer Keczan.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Mayo Christian Church Cemetery in Spencer, Va. with Minister James Jordan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of their choice in Paul Shaffer's name.
Arrangements are by Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, Va.
