POCAHONTAS, Va. —
Nicholas Lotito, 89, of Pocahontas, Va., passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 in Princeton, W.Va.
Born in Pocahontas, Va., he was the son of the late Steve and Maria Gargaro Lotito. He was a veteran of the Third Division Infantry of the U.S. Army during World War II where he received a Purple Heart. He was employed by the Consolidation Coal Company of Pocahontas, Va. as a Lab Technician until his retirement. Nicholas was a member of the American Legion Post No. 14 of Pocahontas, Va. and a member of the VFW 9696 of Bluefield, Va. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing golf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Nina Jessee Lotito; five brothers, Tony, Dominic, Christopher, Ralph and Frank Lotito; three sisters, Anne Lotito, Kathryn Barrett, and Josephine Wise and infant sibling twins.
Survivors include one daughter, Michele Kay Lotito of Princeton, W.Va.; three nieces, Margaret McMurtry, Jeannie Morris and Lisa Pease; three nephews, Tony Lotito Jr., Walt Wise Jr. and Steve Lotito.
Funeral arrangements will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. with Father Paul Wharton officiating. Friends may call Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell, W.Va. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 14 and the VFW 9696 of Bluefield, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Center for Christian Action, P.O. Box 608, Pocahontas, VA.
