BLUEFIELD —
John A. Gearheart Jr., 67, of Bluefield, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at his home. Born June 10, 1946 in Bluefield, he was the son of the late John A. Gearheart Sr. and Lorraine Collins Gearheart.
He was born in Bluefield and raised in the Washington, D.C. and Maryland area. He owned Gearheart's Electric Drain Service in the Washington, D.C. and Maryland area for many years and returned to Bluefield upon retirement where he resided until his death.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Weichbrecht and one brother, James Gearheart.
Survivors include one son, John Gearheart III and one daughter, Katherine Gearheart both of Maryland; three sisters, two brothers, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Honoring his request, the body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bluefield Union Mission, 2203 Bluefield Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701.
