KELLYSVILLE —
L. Virginia Whittaker, 89, of Adairs Run in Kellysville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2012. She was born in Pipestem on August 26, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Lewis Green and Allie Mae Law.
Virginia thoroughly enjoyed her family, cooking, gardening and quilting. She attended the Princeton Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Paul J. Whittaker; one daughter, Betty F. Broyles; and five brothers, Franklin R. Law, Ray Lee Law, Dewey Thomas Law, James Cabel Law, and Lewis Gene Law.
She is survived by three sons, Dayton Eugene Whittaker and wife Mary of Kellysville, Thomas Dewey Whittaker and wife Jacqueline of Palm Bay, Fla., and Jimmy Darrell Whittaker and wife Cynthia of Kellysville; special son-in-law, James W. Broyles of Princeton; daughter-in-law, Claire A. Whitaker of Burlington, Vt.; one sister, Emma Justine Thompson of Glen Lyn, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Comer of Pleasant Hill and Segrid Law of Kellysville; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; extended family, Freddie and Mary Ellen Heath; the caring staff of Mary Ellen's Elder Care, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice Services.
A celebration of Virginia's life will be conducted at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 (today) at Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Fred Farley officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until the service hour today. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Broyles-Whittaker Family Cemetery on Adairs Run Road in Kellysville. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by the service hour on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice Service, 3879 Maple Acres Rd., Bluefield, WV 24701.
Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale is serving the Whittaker family.
